Interview Summary

Earl M. Lewis was an African American political scientist and professor emeritus of Trinity University, where he founded and directed the Urban Studies Program. In this interview, Lewis discusses schools he attended while growing up in Mississippi, influential teachers he had, and receiving his PhD in political science from the University of Chicago. He speaks about positions he held at Howard University, Prairie A&M University, and Trinity University. Lewis also talks about his efforts to reform public education in Texas and his involvement in NASPAA , the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.
