Student Projects: Materiality At UK Oral History Project
Project Summary
The Materiality of UKY Oral History project is an ongoing exploration of materiality at the University of Kentucky. Materiality, the mutual constitution of people and things, is a continuous process of social becoming. This project probes subjecthood and objecthood and the entanglement of material culture- objects and ephemera made by, modified by, and important to human social life- with UK’s campus community. Interviews are conducted with faculty, staff and students at the University of Kentucky by Dr. Zada Komara and Lewis Honors College undergraduate students largely enrolled in HON 251 Modern Material Culture & the Archaeology of Us and HON 251 Race and Gender in the Material World.Project Code
