Interview Summary
Roger Quarles described his career as a tobacco farmer in Scott County, some of how the labor was divided in the family, as well as some of the history of his family in farming. He mentioned his concern for the future of farming in the area due to labor issues and development on land, as well as the influence of the COVID pandemic on the economic issues related to farming. He also discussed some of the major innovations in tobacco farming and failed attempts, as well as the history and details of the quotas system for tobacco farmers.Interview Accession
