Interview Summary

Sisters Sue Trammell and Doris Krebsfanger moved to Over-the-Rhine in 1951 from a sixty-five acre farm in McCreary County Kentucky along with their mother and five siblings. They describe their daily lives when they lived on Race Street during the 1950s before moving to Walnut Hills. Highlights include eating at the Little Mexican Chili Parlor, playing in Washington Park, hopscotch in the alleys and sidewalks, shopping at small mom and pop stores for soda and candy, and the shoes and clothing provided by their church.
