Interview Summary
Olsen served as Chief, Division of Job Corps in the National Park Service (NPS) Washington Office headquarters starting sometime in 1966 and ending when he transferred to Yosemite National Park as Assistant Superintendent on July 10, 1968. As such, he was the NPS Job Corps representative to the U.S. Department of Interior (USDI) and the Office of Economic Opportunity Job Corps offices and responsible for the overall administration of the NPS Job Corps programs. His NPS career started in 1958 as a horticulturist in the National Capital Region and ended on May 3, 1991 as Chief of Administrative Services in the NPS washington Office headquarters. During that time, he held various positions with the NPS in addition to his Job Corps assignment.Interview Accession
