Interview Summary
Born as the 17th of 19 children, Patterson discusses growing up in Yeadon in the 60s and 70s, connecting with The Nile Swim Club of Yeadon through Robert J. Kodosky, experiences growing up with the Nile Swim Club, thoughts on swimming as a black man, and reconnecting to the Nile Swim Club. He touched on growing up in the Yeadon area split between black and white. Talking about schooling and any possible racial barriers ran into by the interviewee. Recollected memories of the Nile Swim Club and Yeadon, talking about the lasting connections made from it. Dived into education later in life and reconnection with the Nile Swim Club.
