Project Summary

Bloodstock agent and consignor Mike Recio (Michael Adam Recio), son of respected Ocala horseman Bill Recio, was involved in the Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry for most of his life. He graduated from the University of Louisville Horse Racing Industry Program, and worked in client services for Taylor Made Farm, Adena Springs, Mill Ridge and Hidden Brook. In 2014, Recio launched South Point Sales. At the same time, he began Rockbridge Bloodstock, a full-service bloodstock agency. Most of all, Recio was well known for his outgoing personality, connections within the industry, and the people he brought together.

Recio died in 2021 at the age of 46. The interviews in this collection were gathered as part of his memorial service.
