Interview Summary
Dr. Ima Ebong, a neurologist at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is interviewed by Reneé Collins for the I Am Diversity: Women Physicians of Color Oral History Project. In this interview, Dr. Ebong shares details about her childhood in the Bahamas. Additionally, she discusses her educational career at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she received a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, and at the University of Miami, where she completed her medical residency.Dr. Ebong shares the importance of diversity in the medical field, and describes the challenges she, and members of underrepresented groups face. Dr. Ebong details the importance of promoting diversity, specifically at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
