Interview Summary

Patton discusses his childhood and his family members in depth, as well as the holidays they celebrated together and the political parties his family members were affiliated with. His education throughout his life and his time at the University of Kentucky is a broad theme throughout the interview as he discusses some classes that he took, the professors he remembers, his time in the Kappa Sigma fraternity, as well as meeting and marrying his wife, Carol Cooley. Minorities are also a notable topic as he talks about his experiences with the discrimination of people from eastern Kentucky and African Americans.
