Project Summary
Charles Edward Wardle served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the late 1960s. He conducted eighteen (18) Kentucky Peace Corps volunteer interviews in the early 1990's. Those interviews comprise this collection.Mr. Wardle was a native of Louisville, KY, receiving a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Louisville in 1963, and a Masters in Spanish Literature from the University of Kentucky in 2000. Mr. Wardle dedicated more than 30 years of his life to professional development in non-profit fundraising, serving as the first Director of Planned Giving for the Christian Appalachian Project, Director of Planned Giving at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, Executive Director of the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation in Lexington, KY, and the Director of Donor Relations, Planned Giving, with the Catholic Diocese of Orlando. He was also a Linguist and Government Relations Manager with the Summer Institute of Linguistics/ Wycliffe Bible Translators in the 1970s, a past president of the national University of Louisville Alumni Association, the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Lexington, KY, chapter, and a past volunteer for the United Way of the Bluegrass in Lexington, KY.
