Christian Appalachian Oral History Collection

The Christian Appalachian Project (CAP), headquartered in Lancaster, is an ecumenical service organization for rural, low-income residents of Garrard and neighboring counties in central and eastern Kentucky. Services provided by the CAP include child development centers, a craft industry program, low-cost home repair, assistance for victims of spouse abuse, summer camps and other youth programs, and services for the elderly and disabled. Former and present staff members and volunteers discuss the history of the CAP in these interviews.
