Interview Summary
Don Weller was a student at the University of Kentucky during the 1950s after returning from his service in the Korean War. In this interview he discusses his reasons for attending the University of Kentucky, his impressions of the school and instructors, and his decision to major in economics. He talks about becoming president of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha, and the acceptance of Greek organizations on campus. He talks about the relationship between the university and the surrounding town of Lexington. He talks about the importance of athletics on campus and the participation of African American students in sports.
