Interview Summary
Paul Wilkes, a humanitarian and religious writer, was interviewed in his Wilmington, NC home in 2015. He is an acknowledged Merton expert, having produced the first documentary on Merton in 1984. In the interview Wilkes discusses Merton's spiritual journey in Asia, the way Merton challenged traditional religious beliefs and practices, and the role of monks in society.Interview Accession
