Interview Summary

Brad Boswell is the president of Independent Stave Company. In this interview he discusses growing up learning the family business from his father and grandfather. He talks about returning to the company after college and working his way through various job positions to become president of the company. He talks about the company's relationship with distillers, and his personal relationships with people in the bourbon industry including Booker Noe and Jimmy Russell. He describes the process of making a barrel and the variables that can change the flavor of a distiller's products. He talks about the bourbon industry as a family tradition and talks about his hopes for the next generation within his own family business. He talks about bourbon tourism and how bourbon culture has changed over the years.
