Interview Summary
Agin begins the interview by describing his former role as a Student Media Adviser to WRFL, the Kentucky Kernel student newspaper, and the Kentuckian yearbook at the University of Kentucky. Subsequently, Agin talks of the primary founders of WRFL, Mark Beaty and Kathleen "Kakie" Urch. Next, the logistical aspects of maintaining WRFL from Agin's perspective as a Student Media Adviser are explored. Then, notable alumni of WRFL are detailed. The interviewee also shares memorable aspects of the early days of WRFL in the late 1980s and early 1990s. A comparison of WRFL and the Kentucky Kernel newspaper is then undertaken. Agin articulates his professional interactions with Kakie Urch and Mark Beaty as well. The music and staff of WRFL are examined. The relationship between WRFL and the University of Kentucky administration is also characterized. Agin concludes the interview by highlighting some of his favorite memories of working with the radio station and remarking upon changes to WRFL that he has noticed throughout the years.Interview Accession
