Interview Summary
Christina "Chris" Barone reflects on her University Archives Management internship at the University of Kentucky Libraries Special Collections Research Center in the summer of 2017. She describes the archival accessioning and moving projects and procedures she has carried out, what she has enjoyed and learned during the internship, and the challenges and surprises she has faced. She reflects on the value of the internship for her future archival career and on her personal experiences living temporarily in Lexington, Kentucky. Topics include archival education, archives management, collection management systems (in this case, ArchivesSpace), decision-making in relation to levels of archival description, the impact of the physical work environment on getting work done, the experience of working on unexpected or unplanned projects, and professional growth and development.Interview Accession
