Interview Summary

Ozni "Ozzie" Atwell was the Vice president of National Park Concessions that operated the hotel and other facilities at Mammoth cave National Park near Cave City, Kentucky. He was the office manager of the hotel and other facilities and a respected and influential member of Cave City, Kentucky and surrounding communities during and after the establishment of Great Onyx Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center.

Barbara "Bobbi" Atwell, Ozzie's wife, was born and raised in the Mammoth Cave area. Her father, Jesse Conrad Cooper, was a ferry operator for the park and lived with his family in park housing. She and Ozzie married in 1954. She worked for National Park Concessions in Olympic National Park. She was an involved and respected member of Cave City and involved in many civic organizations.
