Interview Summary

Frank Peterson was the comptroller and vice-president for business affairs at the University of Kentucky. In this interview he discusses the funding and construction of many buildings on the University of Kentucky campus, including student residences Blazer Hall, Jewell Hall, Boyd Hall, Cooperstown, and Shawneetown; academic buildings Whitehall, McVey Hall, and a new chemistry building; and various temporary buildings on campus. He goes into detail on the expansion of the football stadium at Stoll Field and the construction of Memorial Coliseum.

Peterson discusses the controversy over the construction of new buildings instead of providing raises for faculty members. He talks about his role as director of the Kentucky Research Foundation, which aims to supplement faculty salaries with research grants.
