Project Summary
These interviews spotlight the life experiences of elder women farmers in Kentucky. Each with their own unique story, they discuss aspects of small-scale farming from a female perspective. Topics include dreams and the reality of farming, balancing multiple jobs and raising families, divorce, mentors, teaching the next generation, health and wellness, land ownership, animal husbandry, tobacco settlement, organic agriculture, permaculture, beekeeping, aquaculture, fiber production, cut flower production, restaurants, community supported agriculture (CSA), farmers' markets, homesteading, subsistence farming, and living off the grid.Project Code
