Interview Summary

Judge Reed discusses his life in Hart and LaRue Counties covering education and his journey to appointment as judge. His commitment to community served as the driving factor in moving ?back home? to raise his family. Born to Robert and Eda Reed in Glasgow Kentucky on December 31, 1958, Reed was born into a strong and successful farming family. His grandfather owned also owned a Trucking Company. Reed was a member of the first phase of integration for the Hart County School system. Reed is graduate of Western Kentucky University and attended law school at George Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He began his legal career in private practice and county government in Jefferson County Kentucky. He shares highlights of his first political campaign experience and a story about meeting Justice Clarence Thomas.
