Interview Summary

Vinh Ho was born in 1964 in South Vietnam. He moved frequently with his father who was a member of the ARVN. He briefly settled on the coast along the South China Sea. When the Communists took control of the south in 1975 he began smuggling resources to sell to refugees leaving Vietnam by boat. He also left Vietnam in 1979 and became one of the "Boat People". After a harrowing journey he eventually arrived in the US and was put in the foster care system.
