Interview Summary
Philip McKenzie joined the Tennessee National Guard after graduating from high school. In this interview he talks about growing up in eastern Kentucky, northern Kentucky, and finally moving to Gallatin, Tennessee. McKenzie discusses his decision to join the National Guard and his time in boot camp. He describes his experiences during his two tours to Iraq and the difficulties of adjusting to life back home. McKenzie also talks about the difficulties of being a veteran student and his decision to come to the University of Kentucky.Interview Accession
