Interview Summary
Thornewill discusses his many adventures as a British naval officer during World War II, a priest, a husband, and a father. He talks about growing up in a well-to-do family as well as what it was like acquiring his military education at Twyford Boarding School and Dartmouth College. He talks about his experience becoming a priest and having a family of his own. One of the most talked about stories in the interview is about Thornwille dancing and wooing the royal princesses, including the future Queen Elizabeth II. Following that, he describes his military medals and a souvenir that he saved from World War II.Interview Accession
