Project Summary

John Young Brown Jr. (born December 28, 1933) is an American politician, entrepreneur, and businessman from the U.S. state of Kentucky. He was the 55th governor of Kentucky from 1979 to 1983. He purchased Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) from Colonel Sanders and built it into a multimillion-dollar restaurant chain, and later owned the American Basketball Association's (ABA) Kentucky Colonels, among other business ventures.
