Interview Summary

Former Kentucky Governor and Baseball Commissioner Albert B. "Happy" Chandler is interviewed by Professor Charles P. Roland about his youth and young adult life. He discusses his college experiences, including the various jobs he held while in college and law school to support himself. Chandler discusses his time and experiences while at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, as well as his time at Harvard Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. Chandler also details some of his traumatic childhood experiences and the discipline his father taught him which influenced him for the rest of his life. Chandler talks about various high school experiences and their impact on his life.
