Interview Summary
George Ferguson discusses his memories of his service in the Signal Corps in the United States Army during World War II. He served in the China Burma India theatre of the war. Ferguson describes his memories of the day Peral Harbor was attacked, declaring war on Japan and signing up for military training prior to his graduation from Junction City High School, in Junciton City, KY. He details the education he received in the United States prior to being deployed over seas. He trained in electronics and radio repair in Ashland and Lexington, Kentucky. Ferguson Shares memories of his world travels on the USS Mt. Vernon to Bombay and Calcutta, India, across the Himalaya Mountains and throughout China. The interview ends with his return to the United States in December, 1945.Interview Accession
