Interview Summary

Davenport begins the interview by discussing his teaching career at the University of Kentucky, and the changes to the university that he has witnessed since he arrived as a professor in the 1960s. Subsequently, Davenport's trips to France and Denmark are recalled. Next, the interviewee considers his friendships with Ralph Eugene Meatyard, Guy Mendes, and John Jacob Niles. Davenport also talks of his brief meetings with Victor Hammer, and the paintings of Robert Motherwell.
