Interview Summary
Dr. Cunningham, is a scholar, professor, author and Thomas Merton expert. In this interview Cunningham talks about the role of monks, monasteries, and monastic life in the modern world and in American life. He describes Gethsemane Abbey and the spiritual retreats and daily practices that take place there, discusses Thomas Merton and the ways he appealed to so many people, and ends with a discussion on how monasteries are changing and how they are still relevant in today's time.Interview Accession
