Interview Summary
Sylvia Ryerson, a former intern and radio producer for Appalshop, Inc.'s WMMT radio station, discusses her public school education, finding her way to music, and her experiences at Wesleyan University, which all led to her finding way to Appalshop, Inc. in Whitesburg, Kentucky. She talks about her experiences working with people from Appalshop, Inc. as well as the programs and projects she worked with, such as the Traditional Music Program, "Call From Home", and Duke University's Media Program. She also discusses Restorative Radio, which is the project she took on after leaving Appalshop, Inc., and the aspects of that project that are similar to "Calls From Home".Interview Accession
