Interview Summary

Fred W. Hooper talks about getting into the horse racing and breeding industry, his horse and cattle farms in Alabama and Ocala (Fla.), and his varied early occupations, including his initial foray into construction. He talks about his favorite horse, Susan's Girl. He also talks about his farm laborers, including women farm workers and jockeys, as well as Latin American jockeys.
