Interview Summary
Ockerman (House 1954-1960, 50th district; Democrat) describes his journey to the General Assembly focusing on his time in the military during World War II, his law practice, campaigning for city government, and then the General Assembly. Once in the Legislature, Ockerman talks about his attempts to restructure the state park system and his contributions to mental health legislation. He also talks a good deal about the relationship between Chandler and Breathitt and the Assembly.
