Interview Summary
Smucker discusses her digital project Goin' North: Tales of the Great Migration and the success of that project in the classroom. Smucker details her background in the humanities and digital projects that led her to teach courses built around Goin' North. Smucker explains the history of the project, the importance of Charles Hardy's work and the original interviews he conducted during the 1980s with African Americans from the south who were part of the first wave of the Great Migration, and potential directions that the project has led her in in terms of future digital projects.Interview Accession
