Interview Summary

Edward McCoy, a farmer living on Cane Creek, begins the interview by describing his farm today and the financial circumstances surrounding it, such as the meat market. Next, the most common types of farming on Cane Creek are revealed, as well as frequent natural disasters present in the area. Then, McCoy's home garden is examined, paired with farming equipment practices around Cane Creek, and problems with farming in general. The economic circumstances of Powell County are considered, along with McCoy's own personal future farming projects. A sketch of McCoy's property is provided, coupled with dynamics of the farm, including its daily operations. Additionally, McCoy talks of his children, and the fruit trees he has on his land. McCoy concludes with a brief mentioning of a neighbor, dogs, and general farming advice directed towards fellow farmers.
