Interview Summary
This interview with Eastern Kentucky Personal Responsibility in a Desirable Environment (PRIDE) coordinator H.M. Bottom begins with a discussion of his childhood. He talks about when and where he was born, as well as what he and his friends did for recreation. Bottom then discusses how his family obtained water and disposed of waste. Next, Bottom moves on to talk about his work with Eastern Kentucky Personal Responsibility in a Desirable Environment (PRIDE). He gives suggestions for a safer and cleaner environment and gives examples of recycling materials. Bottom also discusses the litter abatement program in Russell County (Ky.).Finally, Bottom talks about the issue of water quality in Eastern Kentucky and how water pollution has affected wildlife in the area. He ends by talking about the effect that logging has had on the region.
