Interview Summary
Paul Hopkins was born in Pikeville, Kentucky and has lived in the area for 67 years. He talks about how his ancestors came to the area. Hopkins talks about some of his childhood memories of outdoor recreation at Breaks Interstate Park. He talks about the potential for adventure tourism in Elkhorn City, focusing on both trails and the river. He talks about Elkhorn City's economy, and what people in the area could do to promote tourism. Hopkins discusses whether people in the community realize the value of the river and other natural assets in Elkhorn City, and talks about the environmental impact of various industries on the river.Interview Accession
