Interview Summary
Elenora Smith grew up on Kinkead Street and Illinois Street in Lexington, Kentucky. In this interview she discusses the neighborhood around Illinois Street, describes the people who lived there, and talks about how the neighborhood changed over time. She describes her family's house, their outdoor toilet with running water, and the yard where they raised animals and grew vegetables.
