Interview Summary
Carolyn Bacdayan (Associate Professor at University of Kentucky Department of Behavioral Sciences) went to the Philippines to teach at an international school, where she began working on public health and demographic issues. In this interview, Bacdayan describes coming to Lexington and becoming acquainted with the Medical Center as an editorial assistant to Bob Straus. She discusses later assignments, cost and expenditure studies she researched at the Medical Center, and how that influenced thinking about shared responsibility in the health care industry. In addition, Bacdayan discusses the impact of the behavioral sciences emphasis on the students in the Medical Center.Interview Accession
