Interview Summary
Kieran Kelly is a third-year student at West Chester University from Central Bucks County, PA. Kieran is striving to become a History and Social Studies teacher and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2023. Kieran’s experiences growing up around education with his parents and receiving his college education through major social and global events has had a major impact on himself and goal for becoming a teacher. In this interview Kieran shares about his home life and the influence his parents had on him striving to become an educator, and the choice to attend college at West Chester University. Kieran then shares his experience with the rising racial tensions due to the death of George Floyd, the COVID pandemic and the movements to change how Social Studies is taught. He shares the impact these major events have had on himself and how it has strengthened his resolve to become the teacher he wants to be.Interview Accession
