Interview Summary
Bradley Janocha served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco from 2017-19 in a Youth in Development program. Brad contrasts his experiences as a student at Al Akhawayan University and as a Peace Corps volunteer with the Youth Center in Azilal. He praises Moroccan Peace Corps staff, the training he received, and his initial homestay. He tells stories about the mixed gender Hiking Club he developed and the friendships that grew from that, especially with his counterpart, Chouaib. He discusses problems faced by non-white male volunteers in his diverse cohort and the creation of a diversity committee to better prepare volunteers for cultural issues they would encounter. He discusses the impact Peace Corps had on him and his family and he makes the case for why young people should join the Peace Corps.Interview Accession
