Interview Summary
McArthur Moore talks about enlisting in the Army in 1967 after graduating from Savannah State College. He talks about his field communications training at Fort Polk, Louisiana before being deployed to Camp Evans in Vietnam. He discusses witnessing his first casualties, the ability of his commanders, and his experiences in the field. He talks about his impressions of the Vietnamese people and the ability of Viet Cong and NVA soldiers.Moore talks about his homecoming experience, adjustment to civilian life, and the psychological trauma caused by the war, as well as the lessons that can be learned from the war.
