Chrisman, on the nursing faculty of the University of Washington, was the Society for Applied Anthropology's president in 2002 and 2003. In this interview, he discusses his introduction to anthropology and his interest in applied anthropology specifically. He discusses his label as a medical anthropologist. He describes how he first became involved with the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA), the changes in the SfAA over time, and its impact on the field of anthropology.
