Interview Summary

Crespi discusses the creation of a ethnographic resource inventory and database for the National Park Service. She tells Fiske about the importance of the inventory in gathering information about the cultural anthropology of a particular National Park. Crespi then goes on to discuss her work marking previously unmarked sites which are of significant cultural importance, such as baptismal sites on the Cane River in Louisiana or buildings which have been torn down. Crespi clarifies the term "ethnography" and how it was created to differentiate cultural anthropological work from the work of archaeologists in the National Parks department.
