Interview Summary

Middleton discusses Victor Hammer, the typesetter, who created the American Uncial font. Hammer met with the Society of Typographic Arts in order to discuss his idea for the font he wished to design, as better suited to printing in works written in English. Hammer was a professor of art at Wells College, and later at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. There are many details about various aspects of printing.
