Project Summary

Interviewee John S. Hager, a native of Owensboro, Kentucky, was born in 1927. He attended Princeton University and the Michigan College of Law, after which he pursued a career as a lawyer. In 1973, Hager began working at his family's newspaper, and became very active in the Owensboro community. In this interview, Hager talks specifically about his childhood and education, life in Owensboro, his parents' careers and character, and his interest in journalism.
