Interview Summary
Josephine Abercrombie , the only child of J.S. Abercrombie, was raised in Texas where she began showing Saddle Horses as a young girl. Abercrombie reflects on her childhood in Texas, her success as a Saddlebred competitor, the establishment of her father's Pin Oak farm in Kentucky (now owned by the University of Kentucky), her years as a boxing promoter, and her involvement with Thoroughbreds. She discusses the breeding and training operation at the new Pin Oak which she established in 1987 and horses such as Sky Classic. Abercrombie also talks of her civic activities including the founding of the Lexington School.Interview Accession
