Interview Summary
Whitaker discusses his family's roots in Magoffin County. Whitaker talks about youth in the county getting involved with PRIDE. Whitaker discusses dump cleanups and garbage collection, as well as the progress that has been made. Whitaker also discusses his county's white goods buybacks. Whitaker discusses sewerage. Whitaker also talks about PRIDE cleanups and some of the dangerous things they find. Whitaker discusses improvements in the county and his hopes for better recycling programs in the future. Whitaker discusses his job as an Ecology Officer, which essentially combines the duties of solid waste coordinator and floodplains coordinator. Finally, Whitaker discusses interesting items found during river cleanups, as well as enforcement in the county.Interview Accession
