Interview Summary
Robert McCowan is the president of Ashland Oil (now called Ashland, Inc.) at the time of this interview. In this interview he discusses his educational background in Lexington and his experiences at the University of Kentucky. He talks about acquiring a job at Ashland Oil, and his career path to becoming president of the company. He talks about the company's business philosophies.McCowan discusses his family, University of Kentucky athletics, and his position as chairman of UK's Annual Giving Fund. He talks about the purpose of the fund, and why it is important for alumni to make donations.
