Interview Summary
Marilyn Farber served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia, from 1967 through 1969, in the Rural Community Development Program. Marilyn was inspired by JFK at an early age. Marilyn was posted to Concepción, to work in the Colombian government’s Rural Community Development sector. After completing her Peace Corps service, Marilyn traveled extensively in South America, and recorded some English language training records in Colombia before returning home. She studied Public Health, got a doctorate in Chronic Disease Epidemiology, and taught at several universities. She has been very active in RPCV alumni groups, and served on the Board of Directors of the National Peace Corps Association. In 1995, her husband was selected as Peace Corps Country Director for Mongolia, and they lived there until 1999. They now reside in Israel, and were instrumental in establishing a volunteer program there.Interview Accession
