Interview Summary

Gary Millwood grew up in cotton mill towns in South Carolina, where his parents repaired looms and tended gardens. Millwood returned to gardening later in life, when he was put in charge of the grounds of Bellewood Presbyterian Home in Louisville, Kentucky. After two triple bypass surgeries and a battle with depression, Millwood developed a passion for heirloom tomatoes. He now grows tomatoes and saves and banks the seeds.
