Interview Summary
Bartley describes his life and family living through the Great Depression to present day. He describes his first home, which had no electricity or running water, and how his family would get water and dispose of garbage. He describes his family and their various occupations, focusing on his grandfather's store, in which he spent a lot of time. He discusses working on the family farm and how he and his friends would spend their time after working. Bartley describes going to work in coal mining and how his father and siblings also worked in the mines. He discusses how he thinks people need to take care of the environment and what he thinks should be done to do so.Interview Accession
